Andrew Lessman’s Ultimate Eye Support is a comprehensive blend of a dozen phytonutrients and anti-oxidants to support healthy vision and protect the delicate tissues of the eye. It contains exceptionally high levels of Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Bilberry, arguably the most important nutrients for eye health. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are two powerfully protective naturally-occurring carotenoids that are most highly concentrated in the lens and macular region of the retina. Ultimate Eye Support provides 10 mg of Lutein, which is dozens of times more than the leading multivitamins. It also contains 4 mg of Zeaxanthin – just as important as Lutein, but ignored by the leading multivitamins and only found at low levels in most eye formulas. Lutein and Zeaxanthin offer Mother Nature’s most powerful protection from light-induced oxidative damage. These two vital anti-oxidants help protect the lens and macula region of the retina from UV radiation and other oxidative assaults. Lutein and Zeaxanthin cannot be produced by the body, so their protective benefits can only come from food or supplements. Given the low levels of Lutein and Zeaxanthin in the American diet, supplementation is an important consideration. Ultimate Eye Support also contains a high potency blend of Bilberry and Elderberry Extracts standardized for Anthocyanins, which are the deep purple protective anti-oxidants that also help to maintain healthy night vision by supporting the regeneration of the visual purple portion of the retina. We also provide high levels of our EGCG-rich standardized Green Tea to further protect the delicate tissues of the retina from oxidative damage. Our OPC-rich (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins) Grape Seed Extract combined with our Citrus Bioflavonoids offer targeted support to circulation, while Vitamin C and Vitamin E round out the formula.
