Alpha Lipoic Acid 400 provides our highest levels of this essential protective compound. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) plays a multitude of indispensable roles throughout cellular chemistry and metabolism. It does so, in part, due to its unique ability to exist in both water- and oil-based environments. This universal solubility results in ALA being able to deliver its powerful protective benefits throughout the entire body and why it is often referred to as the Universal Antioxidant. ALA protects the tissues of our most vital organs, including our brain, where it readily crosses the blood-brain barrier. It also protects the vital tissues of our heart and cardiovascular system, as well as our liver, kidneys, and lungs. ALA's powerful protection allows it to "recharge" and extend the life of other antioxidants in the body, such as vitamins C and E, and CoQ-10.
